Canadian Centre for Policy AlternativesThe Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives is an independent, non-partisan research institute concerned with issues of social, economic and environmental justice. Founded in 1980, the CCPA is one of Canada’s leading progressive voices in public policy debates. They also have a Manitoba office.

The Caledon Institute is a social policy think tank. Caldeon does rigorous, high-quality research and analysis; seeks to inform and influence public opinion and to foster public discussion on poverty and social policy; and develops and promotes concrete, practicable proposals for the reform of social programs at all levels of government and of social benefits provided by employers and the voluntary sector. They cover a broad range of social policy areas including income security, community capacity-building, taxation, social spending, employment development services, social services, disability supports and health.

The Wellesley Institute is a Toronto-based non-profit and non-partisan research and policy institute. Their four major policy fields are: affordable housing, healthcare reform, immigrant health, and social innovation.
